Ian Shott has recently set up a consulting company following the sale of Excelsyn to AMRI. Ian was the founder and CEO of Excelsyn, a fast growing Contract Development and Manufacturing business which focused on the global Pharmaceutical Industry. He has held senior executive positions in the International Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Industries for over twenty years.

Professor Chris Higgins is Vice-Chancellor and Warden of Durham University. As a world-renowned scientist with a top-quality research, management and policy making record, Chris has pioneered international research in the field of genetics and cell biology of micro-organisms, a key discovery of which enabled the first UK clinical trials for cystic fibrosis gene therapy.

Prof Michael Whitaker

Prof Michael Whitaker is Professor of Physiology and Dean of Development in the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Newcastle University. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Biology and of the Academy of Medical Sciences. He has published widely in the areas of reproductive biology and cell cycle control and has extensive international connections in these areas, particularly the US and Japan.
