Cels also links into the UK-wide Medilink Network (with a hub in each region) to ensure direct access to the UK’s companies, enabling us to identify opportunities, find partners and set up inter-regional collaborations. The Northern Way links North East England with its neighbouring regions – Yorkshire and North West England – enabling inter-regional collaboration and investment on key economic themes such as healthcare.  These regions also market themselves collectively in key markets (such as the USA) under the North of England brand.  There is an established North of England healthcare group, driving inter-regional collaboration in key fields of research and economic development.  This inter-regional collaboration represents an economic powerhouse - with a total of 330,000 companies and almost 15 million people – that can justifiably claim to be a global leader in cutting-edge healthcare research themes such as ageing, and stem cells & regenerative medicine.
