To support healthcare organisations in North East England, Cels has a network of contacts and collaborational links with government departments, regions, healthcare and bio-clusters around the world that can be used to undertake market research, identify new opportunities and open up markets. This includes links with a range of US states - the world’s largest single healthcare market.

For the benefit of its companies, the region also has a range of bilateral relationships, such as a major economic link covering healthcare and other sectors with the regions of Shanghai and Jiangsu in China. Cels also represents the region at major global events such as Bio2007 and works closely with government agencies (including DTI and UKTI) to obtain support for companies developing opportunities in global markets.
